Flying?...In the Sky?

       Jade has got to be the bestest friend of all time! Just when I thought our road trips couldn't get anymore fun and interesting, she surprises me with an all expense paid trip to Dallas, Texas! And guess how we got there...we flew in an airplane! Talk about the greatest road trip of all time! Yep you read correctly, I didn't have to pay for anything. All I had to do was make sure I had a blast. Her son Dylan also went with us to Dallas and he is the sweetest, cutest, funniest 3 year old I have ever met.

         I hung out mostly with Dylan because I love to laugh, and that is one thing he kept me doing. He carried me in his backpack, held my hand on the plane, and even kept me company when Jade was making sure everything was running smoothly for us. Me and Dylan have so much in common too! His name is Dylan and my name is Dyl. He has a pair of purple shoes, and so do I. He loves food just like myself. And it was both our first time flying on an airplane! OverEasy

       If you guys love breakfast/brunch and you haven't been to OverEasy in Mountain Brook, then you guys are missing out! Jade and her family took me to this great breakfast spot, and it made me completely happy! Well anything that involves eating delicious and healthy foods always makes me happy, so I knew this place would be a winner. Because I was so excited to eat at OverEasy, I had the hardest time choosing something from the menu! This place had so many choices that all looked so good, I ultimately had to get help from Jade. Take a look for yourself at the great menu options!

 

         Now do you guys see how and why I had a hard time choosing something from the menu? Jade narrowed my options down to three items: Hash Basket, Huevos Rancheros, and Lumber Jack Potatoes. Even we she narrowed it down to those three options, I still had the hardest time choosing. I finally made a decision, and I decided to choose the Huevos Rancheros. Huevos Rancheros are just scrambled eggs, tons of veggies, and sausage stuffed inside flour tortillas. I absolutely love grits, so of course I had to order those on the side. I am so happy I decided to order this menu item because it was so good! I definitely see why Jade and her family are always eating here. 

A World of Coca-Cola!

       As you all may know, I love to try new and different foods. I usually try and stay on the healthy side of things, but sometimes I go astray. One road trip I have been dying to take is to The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. The World of Coca-Cola is also known as The Coco-Cola Factory. We have never been to The Coca-Cola Factory, so this would be a perfect trip for the both of us, right? Well I decided to mention it to Jade to see if we could possibly make a trip sometime pretty soon, and unfortunately I didn't like her response. She said she had way too much school work to do and couldn't take any more time off from work, so a road trip to Atlanta just couldn't fit into her busy schedule. I was feeling really disappointed and sad, but Jade had a great idea to help me feel better. She suggested we take a virtual field trip to The Coca-Cola Factory.

       I was kind of confused on what a virtual field trip was, but Jade cleared up the confusion for me. She explained that I virtual field trip was a way to have an interactive experience with a particular venue without even visiting the location! How cool is that? Although we wouldn't be able to actually taste all the different kinds of coca-cola that The Coca-Cola Factory had to offer, I still enjoyed the virtual tour.

        The virtual tour was really detailed and made very anxious to visit it in person. Me and Jade found a section on their website that helps you plan your visit! It shows hours of operation, parking and directions, frequently asked questions, and even information about their coke shop!

My Kind of Grocery Store

         Have I mentioned how much I loved going on road trips no matter where they may lead? Well, I also love surprise road trips! You know, like the ones that you had no clue what was going on until you stepped out the car. On this particular road trip, that situation happened to me. I was taking a little power nap and when I woke up, I was at The Fresh Market! I absolutely love this grocery store. I love this store so much, I could spend hours and A LOT of Jade's money in here.

         I haven't been to The Fresh Market (also known as TFM) in a while, so I was overly excited about this road trip. One thing I love about TFM is that they always have the freshest and most appealing foods in their store. Now do you see why I would spend hours in here and a lot of Jade's money? They also have different sampling tables throughout the whole store. That's where you can sample new items that have arrived in there store! I mean eating FREE and delicious food will always be one of my favorite things to do. And after that well needed power nap, I deserved a few snacks to get me through the rest of the day until dinner. I think I sampled everything they had available to sample! From the freshly roasted Hatch Chile Peppers to eating all the desserts in the bakery, I was on my way to gaining at least 10 pounds.

         Although I'm not the one to really care about my appearance, including my weight, I ate entirely too much food at TFM. And after talking to Jade, we both decided that I needed to get on a weight lost program just so I can have an easy way of keeping track of me losing some weight. We did a little bit of research and downloaded a couple apps right on Jade's iPad.

Play Ball!

         Take me out to the ball game! I finally got to do one of the things I have always wanted to do; go to a baseball game! It was so cool and I had tons of fun! I have always loved watching baseball and when I found out Jade went to see the Atlanta Braves play without me back in July, I made her promise me that she would take me to a baseball game before the season was over. It was game 2 of the Southern League Championship for the Birmingham Barons, and Jade surprised me with tickets! I've heard a lot of  good things about the new Region's Field, so I was very excited to finally check the field out for myself. 

         I was very excited about this road trip we were about to take because I knew we were going to have lots fun. Jade wouldn't tell me what section we were going to be sitting in, so I was really anticipating on finding out where we were seating. Once we arrived I wanted to take a look at the big seating poster so that I could try and figure out where we were sitting. While I was reading the seating chart poster, I met a new flat friend! Her name is Flat Norah and she is very pretty. I was very excited to finally meet someone of my kind! We stood around the poster and talked for a while, and then decided to exchange numbers. Filled with excitement and more anticipation, Jade and I went to find our seats.  

When we finally found our seats, I had to take a minute to take in the view we had of the night sky, and of course the view of the field! Just take a look at how awesome our view and seats were.

       

         I am so happy Jade and I went to watch the Barons play because they beat the Mobile BayBears 8-2! They are playing for the Southern League Championship and are leading the series 2-0. I hope the Barons are able to pull off a victory on Friday so that they can win the championship!
